I had mixed feelings about it - for such a long movie, it felt like there was a lot less action than I was expecting. I didn't feel like Lex's evil plot was quite as complex and crazy as it could have been. "Oh, I know, I'll build an island... and people will die, but that's not really the point... and somehow I'll make some money out of the deal." With all that knowledge he'd gained, why didn't we see him inventing any crazy defense systems for his island? Testing out some new death ray on innocent bystanders?
The focus of the movie seemed to be more about Lois and Superman, not so much about Superman fighting evil. Fighting Lex seemed to be more of a side consequence he had to deal with in his pursuit to make up with Lois, and Lex didn't seem all that passionate about his plan working out - he didn't seem completely crushed when something went wrong... just kind of annoyed.
I really liked the introduction of the boy into the story, and would have enjoyed seeing his character unfold a bit more.

What'd you think? I was relatively impressed, but then I went in with pretty low expectations.
