it could be worse.
every time i fret about whether i'm doing a good enough job of writing for the many websites i contribute to, i realize others out there are doing even worse. from a financial website i was re-reading tonight:
Your retirement plan offers two savings options: traditional pretax 401(k) and Roth 401(k). The new Roth 401(k) option will afford significant tax advantages to some taxpayers. But who? The answer depends on a number of factors, and some of those factors require predictions of the future.
Yes, yes, they're explaining very complicated concepts. But "The answer depends on a number of factors, and some of those factors require predictions of the future." is truly masterful -- it sounds simple, until you realize their copywriter has just subtly informed you that YOU NEED TO MASTER TIME TRAVEL TO UNDERSTAND THIS WEBSITE.

It seems like most descriptions of Roth vs Traditional retirement options seem to miss the point (also, things would be much easier if they included a simple spreadsheet for you to play with)
