This used to be my favorite bay area airport. But it hasn't been for a few years now. It expanded too quickly, parking is a mess now, and you can't get in and out of there quickly anymore.
And of course, the food there isn't fit to feed a rat.
If you don't check a bag, if you don't have to eat there, and if you have your own car and splurge for the closer parking (that used to be dirt cheap, but is no longer), then Oakland is really great. But it is getting a little too big to still be the "great little airport" that I wish the east bay had...
